Do you want to be a successful change leader? Here are 8 habits that you should follow:
1) Successful change leaders think before they act.
2) They can detect potential problems ahead.
3) They slow down and study the situation to understand what needs to be changed.
4) They have a keen sense for small shifts in their work environment.
5) They can identify the root cause of a need for change.
6) They never solve someone else’s problems.
7) They always engage those who have a stake in the change.
8) They follow a systematic 6 step process to fully grasp the situation before making change, which involves:
–Recognizing the signs (symptoms) of a problem.
–Collecting all the relevant symptoms.
–Organizing the symptoms in a logical way that describes what is going on.
–Testing their explanation of the problem to ensure they have it right.
–Designing an intervention(s) that will fix the problem.
–Trying out the solution to be sure it works before installing.
Do you follow these habits? If you’re a successful change leader or you know one, what else would you add to the list?
